How to Get Your Prayers Answered

How to Get Your Prayers Answered

Frustration sets in when our prayers appear not answered. Consequently, our faith will begin to waver. Hope diminishes. The relationship with the Lord becomes strained. This will lead us to seek out our own resolutions. When we take these faith-less detours, the path is muddled with struggles that will prolong your prayers from being answered.

Pray Boldly

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6)

To begin, you must pray boldly to receive the blessings of your prayers. In the provided verse from Philippians, the Lord tells us that we can go to him to ask for what we need. For example, I know at times, even I think that my prayers are not worth the Lord’s time.  He asks that we go to him seeking his advice and guidance.

Be specific when you are praying. The more specific, the more recognizable your blessings will become. Your blessings will match your prayer request. Do not allow fear, doubt, or uncertainty to cloud your prayer request.

Also, seek the Lord and have a conversation with him about what you need. Fear and uncertainty in your prayer life will result in doubt. This doubt makes it impossible to have a strong faith-filled life. Most of all, be bold in your prayer life and you will find that your blessings will arrive at the exact time that you need them too.

Release the Worry

“Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24)

“Pray without ceasing,” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Next, when we pray to the Lord we have to have faith that he will answer our prayers. If we choose to pray without faith, then we are holding on to the possibility of the prayer not being fulfilled. The Lord wants us to pray faithfully. The bible states that whatever we ask for in prayer that we will receive it. On the surface, this seems like an easy task. But how often have you prayed from a situation, but can only think about what will happen if the prayer doesn’t work? This type of thinking holds onto the worry of your situation. However, in order for your prayers to be answered, release the worry.  When your faith is strong, there is no room to worry about the outcome.

In Thessalonians, the Lord states that we need to pray without stopping. I  sometimes change my prayer up thinking that it will help speed up the process. What I fail to realize is that my timing is not the Lords. He knows the exact time that I need my blessings. So, instead of changing up the prayer, I need to not cease praying. Every day commit to building your prayer life. And, the closer you are to the Lord the easier it is to receive the blessings you deserve. Most of all, building a close relationship with the Lord requires you to have a strong prayer life. Talk to the Lord daily and you will receive your blessings and a stronger relationship with him.

Acknowledge the Blessings

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)

Lastly, our lives are busy. We get through each day to only get prepared for the next. For instance, there have been times that I have missed the answers to my prayers because I was thinking about what’s next.  As a result, we are so focused on the next steps in our life that when the Lord actually blesses us, we can’t see it. The Lord provides answers to each of our prayers. While our eyes and our hearts have to be open to receive them. We have to show gratitude.

Being thankful and grateful for you currently have will open doors to what you want. Further, showing gratitude is the easiest way to receive answers to your prayers. What you ignore as a blessing, someone else is in prayer for right now. Hence, don’t allow the roadblocks on your path to deter you from being thankful for the steps that you have already taken. Acknowledge that the Lord has answered your prayers. Finally, slow down long enough to see the blessings arrive in your life.

As always sending you love, peace, and positive vibes!
